So I went to the cinema last night and saw Tom Cruise in American Made, it was awesome. I'd highly recommend it if you're either a Tom Cruise fan or a Nacros fan. It's easy to follow and full of twists and turns, worth a look.
It got me to thinking about films and what I've seen and not seen. I'd like to think I've watched a lot over the years, but I'd say that applies to most people. What I find interesting is the fact that I've got a particular list of films, as I'm sure others do, where if someone reveals they've not seen it I find myself distrusting that person!
I mean how can you not have seen Ghostbusters!
So number 1 on the list, Ghostbusters. It's perfect. Bill Murray's performance, for me, is the funniest performance I've ever seen in a movie; straight-faced and trying not to laugh himself as he subversively mocks everyone around him. Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson and Rick Moranis are all equally fantastic too.
Number 2, in no particular order, has to be Terminator 2. 'Come with me if you want to live!' Okay. 'No problemo.' What do you need to watch this film? 'I need your clothes, your boots and your motorcycle.'
Put simply. It's one of the most iconic films of all time and all one of the most quotable to boot!
I know what you're thinking...what a list so far. I fear I'm showing my age and childish sides all at once!
I'm going to speed up in the midsection here, just fire some films out; 'And. Here. We. Go!'
The Dark Knight, in fact, the whole Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy but we all know The Dark Knight is the standout jewel.
LOTR, you know.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles I & II (1990 & 1991). Ignore the 3rd and ignore the modern reboots.
The Green Mile. The Departed. Forrest Gump. Jaws. Top Gun. Good Will Hunting. Jurassic Park. The Grand Budapest Hotel. Casino Royale (Craig). Guardians Of The Galaxy. Inception.
All films Leonardo Di Caprio or Tom Hanks have ever starred in, comfortably my two favourite actors.
Finding Nemo. Shrek 1-4. Toy Story 1-3. Yes, I have a family!
And to finish with, one of the greatest trilogies ever produced. With this one, I'm sending you...BACK TO THE FUTURE!
All three of them are perfect, easy going and Doctor Emmett Brown is a sensation! 'GREAT SCOTT!' Okay, one more...'1.21 GIGAWATTS!' 'What the hell is a Gigawatt?' Classic.
*I'm only joking, or am I...
